direct volunteers in Morrison County – either as a paid
staff position or as a volunteer
* Established “to promote and enhance volunteerism in
the community (Morrison County).”
* Incorporated in the State of Minnesota
* Provides or coordinates education of directors of volunteers
* Provides meeting opportunities to network, problem solve,
and plan volunteer opportunities and recognition.
For information on meeting times and
venues, please contact any of the following contacts.
The Retired Senior
Volunteer Program (RSVP) was
originated under the Older Americans Act of 1965. The purpose
of the program is to create meaningful opportunities for persons
of retirement age to participate more fully in the life of
their communities through volunteer service.
There are many unmet needs in this community that can best
be filled by people like you. The older adult often has skills,
interests and experience, which many in younger generations
have not yet acquired. Therefore, you have something valuable
and unique to share – yourself!
Current volunteer positions in your community may include:
The America Reads Program,
which is an older adult, spending at least one hour per week
in your local elementary school reading with a student.
Little Falls Senior Center
is always looking for help at their site with various volunteers
options.
Tax preparation
services for seniors and low income residents.

RAAN
exists to serve people living with HIV / AIDS in greater Minnesota.
We offer case management, advocacy, referral and limited financial
aid to qualified PLWHA. Branch offices in Bemidji, Hibbing,
Alexandria, Little Falls, Mora, Pipestone and Mankato provide
a local or nearby presence throughout the state. Volunteers
are needed for tasks such as driving clients to doctor appointments,
pharmacies and grocery errands for which RAAN provides mileage
reimbursement. Other client needs are occasional help with
house- and yard-work, pet-sitting during hospitalizations,
and emotional support. Administration also uses volunteers
for office work and event man-power (distributing handouts
and talking with the public.)
